I don't think an o-ring comes with the Napa kit. The only o-ring I replaced was the dipstick tube o-ring which I sized and sourced from my o-ring kit after I pulled the the tube. I know the napa gasket is finicky if too tight. Let us know how the Lubelocker works for you.

It is possible your o rings have suffered compression set (look at the profile of the old o ring - it may have a slight flat to it), or maybe one rolled or pinched up abit upon assembly. You can use abit (light smear) of silicon grease or use abit of coolant as a lubricant to help when sliding the hoses connection together.
