Milling around: Aldol and enantioselective anhydride opening reactions were effected in a ball mill under solvent‐free conditions to afford products in high yields and with high enantioselectivities after short reaction times (see scheme).
RETSCH is the world leading manufacturer of laboratory ball mills and offers the perfect product for each application. The High Energy Ball Mill E max and MM 500 were developed for grinding with the highest energy input. The innovative design of both, the mills and the grinding jars, allows for continuous grinding down to the nano range in the shortest amount of time - with only minor warming ...

Nifedipine powders encapsulated with PVP and the surfactants were recovered from the suspensions after milling and evaluated for changes in particle size, morphology, sedimentation ...
Different milling devices can be utilized for the powder processing: planetary mill, attritor, horizontal ball mill, 1D and 3D vibrating machines. The wide differentiation in configuration of the mills obstacles the development of a unified model on powder transformation kinetics in the milling process and then most of processing procedures are ...
Mixtures of powders of crystalline sodium fluoride together with crystalline or amorphous aluminium fluoride were mechanically treated at ambient temperature by high-energy ball milling using a planetary mill. The application of X-ray powder diffraction together with 19 F and 27 Al MAS NMR spectroscopy gave unambiguous evidence that solid state chemical reactions between NaF and AlF 3 ...
application studies. One of the promising approaches to the large scale synthesis is a ball-milling and annealing method. This paper first introduces several common synthesis methods of ZnO nanowires and then summarizes the one dimensional nanomaterials produced by the ball milling and annealing method. Finally, some preliminary results of

The vibratory ball mill (VBM, Sweco, Belgium) consists of a 36 L-capacity grinding chamber made of an abrasion-resistant elastomer, put in vibrating motion by …
A boron nitride (BN) nanostructure, conical BN nanorod, has been synthesized in a large quantity on Si substrates for the first time via the ball-milling and annealing method. Nitridation of milled boron carbide (B 4 C) powders was performed in nitrogen gas at 1300°C on the surface of the substrates to form the BN nanorods.
Objectives: The objective was to characterize the structural behaviour of indomethacin-cimetidine and naproxen-cimetidine co-amorphous systems (1 : 1 molar ratio) prepared by quench cooling, co-evaporation and ball milling. Methods: Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and DSC were used to characterise the samples. Structural relaxation (i.e. molecular mobility) behaviour was obtained from …
The dependence of chemical reaction between Mg(NH 2 ) 2 and MgH 2 on the ball-milling conditions has been investigated. While the decomposition of the component Mg(NH 2 ) 2 resulted in gaseous products consisting mainly of ammonia, the mixtures of Mg(NH 2 ) 2 -MgH 2 > prepared by ball-milling released H 2 at temperatures as low as 65 °C.
Received 4 October 2005; received in revised form 25 January 2006; accepted 26 January 2006 Available online 3 April 2006 Abstract Ag 50Cu 50 alloys were prepared by high-energy ball milling at 393, 423, and 453 K. Atom probe tomography was used to characterize the microstructure and the local composition of the milled powders.
